Sabalenka Supports Djokovic: A Testament to His Career Longevity

Aryna Sabalenka Applauds Djokovic’s Enduring Career

    May 31, 2025

Aryna Sabalenka has voiced her support for Novak Djokovic, highlighting his career longevity and impressive achievements in tennis. Most importantly, Sabalenka’s remarks come as Djokovic, at 38, continues to break barriers. Fresh off securing his 100th tour-level trophy, Djokovic is now in pursuit of a record 25th major title at Roland Garros. 🎾

    Sabalenka’s Perspective on Djokovic’s Greatness

Despite some questioning his ability to compete at the highest level, Sabalenka, the WTA World No. 1, has defended the former ATP No. 1. She emphasizes Djokovic’s extraordinary accomplishments. “You’re putting too much pressure on Novak. Let him be,” Sabalenka expressed during a press conference in Paris. “He’s fit, strong, and mentally ready. I believe he can play another two or three years at this level.”

Sabalenka’s insights on long careers in tennis highlight her perspective on the pressures faced by top players. Besides that, she acknowledged the challenges of maintaining a long tennis career but praised Djokovic’s ability to rise to the occasion.

    The Changing Landscape of Tennis

Reflecting on Rafael Nadal’s farewell ceremony, where Djokovic and fellow tennis legends Roger Federer and Andy Murray were present, Sabalenka noted the shifting dynamics in the sport. “If he retires tomorrow, everyone will be sad. There’s another 10 to 15 years for players like Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz to make their mark, but let’s let Novak continue to inspire this generation,” Sabalenka added. “Seeing the ‘Big Four’ on the court was emotional, knowing three of them are retired. Let’s allow Novak to keep showing his greatness.”

    Djokovic’s Resilience and Drive

Djokovic has faced a challenging season, including a semi-final exit at the Australian Open due to an injury against Alexander Zverev. He also experienced early losses in Doha, Indian Wells, Monte-Carlo, and Madrid. However, he silenced critics by winning his 100th title in Geneva last week. With a third-round victory over Filip Misolic at Roland Garros, Djokovic would achieve his 99th match win at the tournament, matching his best performance at a single Grand Slam. Heading into Saturday’s match, he holds a 98-16 record, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.

    Roland Garros 2025 Predictions

As Djokovic continues to chase new milestones, Roland Garros 2025 could be another testament to his enduring legacy. His performance inspires not only current players but also future generations. Therefore, Sabalenka’s support underscores the significance of Djokovic’s contributions to tennis. 🌟
