Novak Djokovic French Open: Sabalenka’s Perspective

As Novak Djokovic celebrates his 38th birthday, questions about his ability to secure another Grand Slam title at the French Open persist. Aryna Sabalenka, however, has voiced strong support, asserting that Djokovic still has a promising path ahead. She predicts that his eventual retirement will leave a significant impact on tennis, leaving fans “sad” when that day arrives. Besides that, Sabalenka also touched on the competition for the Roland-Garros title between herself and Iga Swiatek.

“Leave him alone,” Sabalenka insists to those doubting Novak Djokovic’s capacity to perform at the highest level. Djokovic, who recently turned 38, celebrated his 100th career title with a victory in Geneva. This marked a significant comeback after a challenging period, including parting ways with coach Andy Murray.

Despite recent struggles, Djokovic’s performance at the French Open suggests a resurgence. “You’re trying to put as much pressure as you can on Novak,” said world No. 1 Sabalenka after advancing to the fourth round in Paris.

“Leave him alone. Look at him. He’s fit, strong. Mentally and physically, I think he’s ready to play another two, three years. He’s doing really well. Of course, there are ups and downs; everyone has them,” she noted. “Imagine if he retires tomorrow; everyone will be sad, right?” With the potential for Djokovic retirement, the impact on tennis would be profound.

Djokovic remains a legendary figure in tennis, the last of the ‘Big Four’ still competing. On the French Open 2025 opening day, he attended a tribute to Rafael Nadal, who retired at the end of 2024, alongside Roger Federer and Andy Murray.

Sabalenka and the Women’s Title: A Rivalry with Iga Swiatek

Sabalenka, aiming for her first French Open title, defeated Olga Danilovic in straight sets in the third round. Her next challenge is against 16th seed Amanda Anisimova. When asked if she or four-time champion Iga Swiatek is the favorite for the title, Sabalenka said, “It’s tough to predict in women’s tennis. Let’s just say Iga is the favorite since she won it three times in a row.”

Sabalenka’s journey in women’s tennis has been remarkable. Her support for Djokovic and determination at the French Open highlight her commitment to the sport.

In conclusion, the spotlight at the French Open remains on Djokovic and Sabalenka. As fans ponder French Open 2025 predictions and the Sabalenka-Iga Swiatek rivalry, the events continue to captivate tennis enthusiasts worldwide. 🎾
